Each summer, BSUs all over the state of Mississippi, experience the fun of seeing students respond to the call to make disciples of Jesus Christ beyond their local campus and community. Here are a few testimonies of MC students who served this past summer:
“Serving on short-term mission gives you an opportunity to see what God is doing in the world. In a short amount of time, a lot of seeds can be scattered for the permanent missionaries to sow once you leave” (Ashley Bullard, Southeast Asia).
“Jesus has better plans than you do. Follow Him. If you don’t follow Him, you will miss out. The journey He takes you on could change your life. He is God. Trust Him” (Sarah-Lindsay Knight, Oklahoma Baptist Home for Girls).
“Absolutely go! You get to share the gospel where it has never been heard while expanding your worldview and growing in the Lord like never before” (Taylor Thompson, Heartweavers, Thailand).
“God broke my heart for how intentionally He loves and seeks out broken people. I learned that God uses His followers in dark places to be doorways to the hope He talks about in Hosea 2” (Amber Izzard, Urban Rescuers, Thailand).
“My summer missions team was able to encourage believers this summer, and experience Christ working in the hearts and lives of people that didn’t know Him. God also did something special in my life this summer. Something that I can’t explain. It’s just something that you have to experience” (Reid Bensch, Habitat, Philippines)
